Sustainable Treatments with Impact

Medik8 is committed to continuous improvement in sustainability. Our ultimate goal? To become the most sustainable skincare brand in the world, led by professionals. We start with the basics: our professional range and the therapists who perform our treatments every day around the world. For example, we use Post Consumer Recycled Plastic (PCR) in our professional bottles, 40% recycled glass, and avoid pure palm oil in our products. What’s more, all of our formulas are 100% vegan.

Cruelty Free and Ethically Responsible

At Medik8, we never test products on animals. In line with strict European regulations, we guarantee that no animal testing is carried out, either by us or by third parties on our behalf. We take supplier compliance very seriously and make it an essential part of the product development process. We hope to see animal testing banned globally soon.

Medik8's Commitment to Clean Oceans

As a stockist of Medik8 products, we support their commitment to marine conservation. Medik8 has been completely microbead-free for years. Instead of using harmful plastic beads, they use natural exfoliants such as jojoba beads, found in the Pore Refining Scrub™.

Since 2018, Medik8 has replaced all plastic inserts in its packaging with 100% recycled cardboard, making the boxes fully recyclable and saving over 3 tonnes of plastic annually. They are also working towards eliminating ocean plastic from their professional range in the near future.

Contribution to the Conservation of Forests

As a retailer of Medik8 products, we support their commitment to protecting forests. For packaging, Medik8 uses not only recyclable materials, but also largely recycled sources. All boxes are made from FSC-certified cardboard, which comes from well-managed forests or recycled sources. This commitment to sustainability is visible on the packaging with the FSC symbol. In addition, they minimize paper waste in their packaging to remain as environmentally friendly as possible.

Sustainable Use of Glass

As a Medik8 retailer, we support their commitment to glass as a sustainable material. All Medik8 serum bottles and pipettes are made of glass. Since 2018, their glass bottles contain 40% recycled glass, and they aim to increase this percentage in the future.

However, wherever possible, Medik8 chooses to use environmentally friendly packaging. One of their main goals is to increase the use of recycled materials, starting with their professional range.

Palm Oil Free for Sustainability

As a stockist of Medik8 products, we support their commitment to being completely palm oil free. Palm oil is a sensitive topic, as millions of hectares of forests and habitats have been destroyed by the global demand for this ingredient. Medik8 has conducted a thorough audit of all ingredients to ensure their products are 100% free of pure palm oil, as an important step towards sustainability.

Innovative Materials and Less Waste

When selling Medik8 products, we support their smart approach to reducing waste. Medik8 is not just about recycling, but more importantly about being more conscious of the use of materials. By opting for digital solutions instead of unnecessary printing, such as with their fully digital Training Manual, they reduce their environmental footprint. Packaging has been deliberately made smaller and thinner, and where possible, boxes have even been eliminated, such as with many cleansers. Their priority is to reuse or minimise use, with recycling as the final step.

Medik8 is committed to green chemistry, developing products using energy-efficient processes. Their buildings run entirely on renewable energy. Where possible, they use cold manufacturing processes, mixing formulas at room temperature. This significantly reduces energy consumption, as heating large volumes of product requires a lot of energy. From sourcing ingredients to manufacturing, sustainability is at the heart of every step.

Although we are not part of the manufacturing of Medik8 products, we are proud to share that they are ISO 22716 certified for cosmetic manufacturing and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to high-quality manufacturing and excellent customer service. Although these audits are voluntary and take time, Medik8 sees them as essential to consistently ensuring the quality and precision of their products.
